That really is a good idea with the coconut!
Can you get a picture of the pattern of the inside...?
The texture of the inside of a coconut might be great for working up a lather!

On another thread about turning would I suggested an artillery round cut short for a bowl...
And now with the coconut bowl inserted in it.. maybe removable to house a puck underneath.. enough room for a DE or shorty? ... crazy.

    Thanks for the idea!

It's Sunday and not allowed power tools in condo. Will work on cutting base tomorrow.

Base: Need to cut out top for bowl to sit into. Then cut base to proper height and glue both top and base together.

There is also the option of not glueing the bowl to the base Co you can hold it in your hand while working a lather.

Needs a little refinement but here you go. Coconut shaving bowl. Should I fasten it to base or leave it free?

I don't think I'd glue it as it looks like it would be more comfortable and easier to cup in your hand without the base attached

    Thanks
That's what I was leaning towards. Still needs more sanding but I think it will work.

Yep, im with Roy on this. A nice way to store it on its base but cup in the hand without.

    That looks great so far

I'm not sure which way, attached or not..
when imagining holding it, seems it would be more comfortable not attached, yet also maybe would possibly slip out of hand easier and so around the rim could be worked on the outside to have better grip..?

Yep the inside looks good for a lather!
