Thanked: 634New brush project
Just finished this one. Marine epoxy has to cure. Brush base is an old briar carved pipe. I removed the stem and filled bowl with plastic wood after scraping it out.

All you have to do now is get some tobacco scented soap.

Thanked: 634Actually I coated the outside with Superglue and scraped abd sanded the inside of the bowl. Almost no odor at all.

What a great idea!
I've looked at many items differently in pursuit of building materials yet never did this occur to me..
Do you mind if I make myself a pipe brush?
Perhaps a Wosty Pipe razor in a travel set along with a Celebrated Pipe Brush...
Now... how about ideas on a shave bowl along the same lines...?
Any ideas gentlemen?“You must unlearn what you have learned.”

Thanked: 634Mike
Be my guest and go for it. I did this on a whim. It came with a travel double edge. Thought I would give it a go just for the heck of it.
Now that you mention a shave bowl, I have an idea for you. How about a coconut shell? Cut one piece for the base and a larger one for the bowl. You would have to polyurethane the iside and outside.,
