    Well,I just got a Rooney style 3 Medium Finest from Jim @ Vintage Blades. It appears to fit your description of a 'scrubby monster" but I can't say how it works yet. Problem is, when I say I just got it, I mean about 2 hours ago. My plan is to turn it loose on some Mitchells in the morning....then I'll let you know. Sure is great looking and the bristles are just as promised. Soft tips with nice springy shafts.
