    Yes, as long as it adheres to the sides and doesn't run down and clump at the bottom.

    I don't know about varnish or deck sealer, but a quick dip in epoxy would seal it up, if you feel like it needs to be sealed at all. Good find!

    Great find!
    I've had two of those for plants, decades ago, so existed and do probably still exist in Europe.
    You don't have to seal them. Water itself does with the lime over time.
    Just make it wet and let dry a couple of times.

    and ive heard that lemon juicewill cut lime deposite from poroue surfaces, so if u do start getting a crusty white look, you dont have to resort to chemicals or anything

    I have this and it works great. The water doesn't seep in fast at all. The only thing that I recommend is not using boiling water, it will get super hot and dry up the lather. You might need a longer brush cause its kinda deep.
