I just ordered one in the "Hamada and Blue".

Let us know how you like it. If you have any tips on using this, pass those along, too.

Will you soak this in hot water before you fill it?

    Good Luck,

    Steve

I used the scuttle this morning.

Ran hot water in the sink, then filled up both sections of the scuttle and let the scuttle sit in the sink filled with the hot water while I showered.

Got out of the shower, stropped the razor, dumped out the water and drained the sink. Filled internal cavity with warm water and created luxurious warm lather out of an almond sized dollop of CO Bigelow's cream.

Perfect size and depth, brush didn't hit the sides of the scuttle. The interior ridges made the lather form quickly.

Since this is only about my 10'th straight razor shave, I have a tendency to do a lot of touch up (I refuse to go back to the DE until I master the straight). The warm lather lasted all the way through the shave and warm water poured out of the inner cavity when I was cleaning up the bowl and brush.

    FANTASTIC!!!

    That is really cool!

I can't wait to get mine. B&B has jumped all over this baby. It seems they are refining the mug and improving it slightly from batch to batch. The mug is larger compared to the original; and I think the opening for filling is slightly larger, too.

I think this is a great product!

About a week and a half ago I got kinda bummed out when I called Georgetown Pottery to check on the status of my scuttle and I was informed that of all of the scuttles that came out of the kiln that week, 2 of them were cracked. Lo and behold mine was one of them.

So in a fit of AD weakness, I also ordered a Super scuttle from Schwarzweisskeramik.de and it should arrive by the end of February. So hopefully my Scuttle AD (would that be SCAD?) should be satisfied.

Ansgar gave me a helluva deal on a Super scuttle that had some glaze drip on a couple of spots where they didn't belong, but from the pictures he sent me I think the "blem" gives the scuttle character. I can't wait for this one to arrive too!

Comparing the two I might have to make the Georgetown Scuttle my "travel" scuttle and the Super scuttle for every day use.

    We'll just have to see.

    The webstite is: http://www.georgetownpottery.com.

You are correct, it is currently not on the website.

I called Georgetown Pottery and placed my order using good ole plastic and I picked my color from the listing of patterns for the dishes, etc. As stated above, mine is Hamada Blue

Thanks for the website and info. I was
looking there for the scuttle and
couldn't find one so I figured I had the
wrong site. What did you pay for
yours if you don't mind me asking?

    John
