Thanked: 0I should also mention that I want to do each step in the scuttle. No additional mugs. RMV, does your post mean that you:
1: Soak brush in top cup portion of scuttle w/ hot water while you shower
2: Empty out scuttle and gently wring out brush
3: Put soap in empty top cup portion of scuttle and use remaining moisture on brush to create lather
4: Then, fill the unexposed reservoir under the cup while avoiding any water spilling into exposed soap cup portion of scuttle.
?
Thanks

I put water into the container holding the soap and if possible let the container float round in the hot water I'm soaking the GP scttle, brush and razor.
When I'm ready I empty the soap container...Just pour it out..
Bring the GP scuttle out of the hot water. Put a finger over the water jacket fill and empty the lather bowl of the scuttle.
I squeeze my brush one squeeze.
I jab, twirl, rotate, mash my brush into the soap in the container to get the bristles to get soap on in them. (this is loading the brush)
I take the loaded brush and start to lather in the GP scuttle. I twirl, mix, mash and beat...nothing happening yet???...put a coupla drops of water from the sink into the scuttle...repeat till lather is foamy and practically overflowing the scuttle.
Different soaps have a different water to soap ratio.

Thank you TOB9595.
As you can see nestablifted, there is no real right and/or wrong way to do it, what ever pleases you, or what ever works best for you. Let's not forget the first purpose of a scuttle is in fact to keep your lather warm for the 2sd, 3rd, 4th ................ so it feels good on your face every time you apply it to it. It just happen that the GP scuttle does a good job at building up your lather and keeping it warm at the same time.
