That is a wonderful size. I was hoping that it was this size and not smaller like we see in vintage mugs.
FWIW Some of the best lathering and face painting was with a boar brush. I've not tried a nylon yet. But I will

Ring Alun before you go to Ewenny, he says he didn't make many of those shaving mugs at all.
Alun was my dads best man, they were in Cardiff art college together in the 60's.
I fancy telling Alun how to design a mug that has the soap holder part low enough into the mug for the hot water to warm the soap, and what size to make the holder as all the Wade ones have got it a bit wrong.
He might be able to "shift a few" then to people who actually wet-shave rather than just buy the pottery for display.
