Quick & dirty stand made of spare 1/16" brass rod and soft solder. If I ever make another one, I'll use heavier rod & silver solder. But I didn't have any lying around (and I also need a new propane bottle for my torch).

Why not a couple of roofing nails half ass pounded into a stud in the wall? Not only cheap, but very easy.

Well, there's something to be said for aesthetics. This stand was partly a trial run. I think it would be more attractive with some decorative curlicues and curved support members. Actually, next time I might fabricate something that mounts on the wall and has a row of those u-shaped holders for a whole row of brushes. I don't like too much clutter, and my sink is starting to accumulate gizmerators and doodads at an alarming rate.

I made this one out of one of those department store hangers with the clips for pants.

My brush stand was thrown together out of necessity with no purchase required. Having given myself my first shave, I suddenly had the problem of what to do with the wet brush. I ran around the apartment until I saw one of my pipe cleaners (I smoke a semi churchwarden, so it's extra long) twisted it, put the brush in, and hung it over the shower rod. 3 months later, that's still what I'm using.
