Thanked: 2Anyone make their own brush stands?
I'd like some ideas for some DIY brush stands...especially brush/razor combo stands. I am not a woodworker like some of you, although I can saw and sand...so simple things are fine...
I am leaning in the direction of bending some brass rod (bought for pins) and putting it in a wood base

I'm working on some ideas in polymer clay... not good ideas yet, but they're getting there.

Thanked: 586Well Luke I have made my own brush and stand. It may be considered simple. It is here:

Yay creativity!!
HAHA you know thats not simple theres a lot more then saw and sand in that, its more of a brush sculpture then a brush stand
I suggest curling the rod around a thick dowel and making like a spring and then bending that over at the top to hold the brush, and mount it on a nice slab of finished wood...does that make sense?

Thanked: 586Okay, I was being funny.
I actually want to make some brush/stand combos that will be absolutely minimalist. I am thinking of maybe a single, thick wire (you can get some pretty heavy brass and aluminum at any hobby shop) sticking out of a post or board that would go into a hole drilled through the brush handle. You can even get away with the wire sticking out of the wall with this idea:
The only thing is the hole in the brush should be rinsed clear of soap before hanging.

A piece of double stick tape would be real minimalist and invisible or if your willing to go that minimalist why not just stand the brush up...
