Thread: Keeping your scuttle hot

Well, I tried out the "candle warmer" (really the same thing as the mug warmer) and absolutely love it! It keeps the water nice and hot in my GP scuttle, and the second pass is even hotter than the first! It's wonderful, and for $7, I would wholeheartedly and absolutely recommend it!

Maierar,
Mine is the Provo Craft Cozy-up Candle warmer, model YD0605, 120V, 17W. It gets to about 155F or 160F.
Hope that helps.

Thanked: 335I gotta ask, why do candles need to be warmed? It seems to me that if a candle were placed on said warmer it would become a puddle in fairly short order
and no longer the candle that originally one thought so charming.

Bruce, it's meant for those scented Yankee candle things in the jars - this is supposed to make the candle let off its fragrance while not burning up the wax and making the candle last much longer. I like to think I've repurposed it for a much more noble use!

Thanks for the report MM!
I'll be procuring a warmer on my next shopping expedition...although as senile as I am I'm looking for one with an automatic shut off.

i nuke the water in a microwave and then use in my scuttle. this keeps the water/lather plenty hot for my shaves with multiple passes. in fact i usually do this prior to my shower and stropping and still have plenty of warm lather.
maybe you need to shave faster!!!!haha.
