Not much difference there. 1L = 1.05 QT (US) and I'm pretty sure they're using US when listing in qt.

I just ran across a few of them in Lucky this evening. The 1.5 qt is pretty large. Looks like a good size to float a bowl in though. Craftsman makes a 3 cup rice cooker that's a bit smaller (by 1 cup) -- almost there. Problem is that you fire it off and it steams rice for the appropriate amount of time and then automatically switches to the warm setting...

I think a 2 cup capacity would be about perfect with a knob that would go from just warm to boil and a removable inner bowl so you could rinse it out each use. There probably just isn't much demand for that size...

Maybe we should start looking in the area of childrens' cook toys? Probably find something the right size there. They used to have those ovens and things that were heated with a light bulb. I suspect all the safety regulations have done away with anything like that.

My MrCoffee mug warmer does a good job on the bottom of my ceramic Tabac soap bowl. Problem is that the Tabac bowl is just a little too small and the mug warmer/bowl has about a 20 minute ramp up time. The lather on the end of the brush is almost steaming hot for the last pass on my neck... It needs to be able to heat the sides of the bowl.
