    Default Cheap Scuttle

I have lots of different shaving creams and soaps. I have one mug that I've had for years, it's a Porter, I think from Montana. I basically use that for my soap du jour I have some soaps that came in nice little wooden bowls, Most of the creams have their own container too. I was in Target the other day shopping and I found these neat little white corningware bowls, they're 7 oz. I think they're used for deserts, stuff like that. Also, in the silverware aisle, I found litte spoons. These two items are great for mixing shaving cream. You take a little scoop of cream, put it in the bowl with some water, brush it around, awesome lather, cheap shaving scuttle. That's one of my vintage Wade and Butcher, notice the curved monkey tail. I've never seen one like it.

It's called a ramekin. I've been using one as a lather bowl for years.

It doesn't hold heat as well as those do but I use a black salsa bowl I got at the dollar store. Its thick and sturdy and has feet. It is also textured which helps with the lather

I have that exact corningware bowl and used it for quite some time till I got my new GTP scuttle. It worked great though

I, too, use a couple of these "ramekin" bowls.

OMG, This is an old thread I started in 09. I still use those Ramekins, but for soap. I also use the clear glass corning ware with the plastic lids.....

As for the spoon, I like to use the tiny plastic spoon that comes with the can of tuna/salmon & cracker packs.
