True - I saw that Tim (aka Oldblades at SRP) makes shave boxes too, so asked him to look at this thread. Thanks guys for looking into the possibilities.

Ben - that would be just too much to ask of anyone, but you've been kind to look into it.

Raj - you're right, those rates would be high - with int'l shipping (costing more than the box) then we're looking at closer to a $200 price tag - about the cost of the new TI shaving boxes here. Hmmm...

    Hi fella's.
This is what i got back:

    Thanks for your enquiry.
Each shaving box / barber's box is different and so its weight will vary.

We usually send a box by Royal Mail Airmail.
As you can see from our delivery section we charge a single price of £10 / $14.50. However, if you are looking to send several we will pass only the costs from the Post Office / courier.

    Small boxes priced at around £20 weigh around 600 - 700g, boxes priced at £26 weigh 700 - 800g and those priced around £30 weigh 1000 - 1200g.
A little extra weight - 150g will need to be added for the packing (lots of bubble wrap)

Postage to the US using Royal Mail International Airmail is approximately £1.10 for each 100g.

Here's a very handy calculator - the maximum weight is 2kg in one parcel.

Sending by a courier such as FedEx or DHL is expensive.
    A parcel measuring 40cm x 40cm x 50cm would cost around £35.

These are only indicative measurements and the courier prices assume that all the boxes are going to one destination.

We would offer a discount dependent on the number ordered.
Order 3 and we'll offer a 15% discount, over 5, 20%. We would include free solid brass padlocks with any collective order placed.

Ben - thanks again for looking into this. I know Tim has posted a pic of his prototype version of these, which will hopefully work into another viable alterative for those of us on this side of the pond...

Doesn't mean we couldn't also continue to explore this option if enough people were interested; that's a generous offer from the store.
