Looking for a good shaving box? What about antique, Indian-made Barber Boxes!
Folks stumbled accross this while looking for what's out there in a decent-sized shaving box (room for Str8s, brush, mug, etc.) with classic fold-out shaving mirror and found these:
Wooden Barber's Boxes
Unfortunately, seems they don't ship outside the UK. Maybe some of our co-conspirators in the Isles would consider picking them up & shipping them across the pond?
I know that TI offers something new for about $200 or more, but I was hoping to find one for around $100 or so - looks like most of these run about that (around 30 GBP).
Opinions? Other ideas?

Ben - would it be hard for you or others in UK to take money (via Paypal) for folks in U.S. side of SRP & pick some out for us? maybe we could contribute to a Shaving Box fund or something... Don't want to make it a chore for you guys, though.

Could do mate, if it helps out. You want me to check on postage costs?

Ok. Just made an enquiry on weight for postage & asked about a discount if a few were purchased. I think postage costs would be a killer though, so no problems if you decide it's just too rich. Doesnt hurt to find out though!

Excellent
Thanks, Ben - aside from shipping costs, what's your imagination of how the actual mechanics would work? Would you go down there to the shop and take a few snaps (pictures for my fellow Americsans) for people to choose from (with your observations/reccomendations) or would we take a look on line, purchase them & then reimburse you for the pick-up/delivery?
If you had time, maybe you could call the folks at Scaramanga (cool shop name) too - they might have some ideas. Thanks for looking into this, Martin

Well, according to routplanner, if i'm lucky it's a 15 hour round trip taking in nearly 900 glorious miles of congested british roads!
I think you may have to admire the photo's on the website & make your choices from there. Then i reckon they're gonna have to send them to me.
I'm very happy to send them on though.
I'll let you know when i hear back from them. It's just gone 8pm here, so hopefully they respond tomorrow.
The total cost by the time they get to you may make them unviable, but i'd like to help, if i can.

Thanked: 278Their 2Kg limit for international orders seems to be a Royal Mail limit.
I went through FedEx's website to get a shipping price and it said £75 for a 4 pound item!!! Maybe I did something wrong but there has to be a cheaper alternative.

Those are beauties! Ya might design your own and have it made, wouldn't be vintage but you would have one that would be perfect for you. Just a thought.
