Golden nib knot hair shedding?
Gents,
How badly do your knots shed hair? I am worried that my 26mm silvertip is a dud. I have been shaving with it for a few days and the amount of loose hair seems to be increasing. It is much worse than my old tweezerman. It sheds not only single hair but also twins, triplets etc glued together. That does not look good.

I bought 5 different sizes from 20MM to 28MM and my 26MM shed the worst. It has calmed down now but I have only used it one time. The others shed just a few then quit. Time will tell if the 26 will stop shedding.

Yeah, if it doesn't stop after a week or so, you might start to worry. If it stops, except for a hair here or there, that would be somewhat normal. If clumps are coming out, that's a problem.

My 20 from the same vendor is a beast, maybe lost 10 hairs.
I agree if it is coming out in clumps, that could be a problem. Maybe give it a rest for a while then give it a go. Still acting up contact the vendor see what they say.

my 28mm knot lost a half dozen hairs the first week or so, and hasn't lost any since, at least that i've noticed. if it doesn't calm down after a while, i suspect you've got a dud.

I purchased two from the same place, size 22 finest and size 28 silver tip. I haven't put the 28 together yet, but the 22 hasn't lost much at all. After I put it together, I washed it with shampoo and conditioner and let it dry. I may have lost a couple of hairs while doing that, but it wasn't enough to make mention of, or cause me any concern.
I have used the brush daily for about 3 months since I put it together and don't remember loosing any hairs, at least not enough to make mention of.

Thank you gents. I hope mine will start behaving soon. I hate (a lot of) loose hair in lather.

I am giving up. After a week of shaving, the shedding goes on and on. I am not talking about a few hairs, it looses them in dozens. Believe me, loose hair all over my face made my shaving pretty miserable, it spoiled all the fun. The knot goes back to golden nib. Thanks for your assistance.
