Thanked: 18How do i clean my brushes?
I have two badger brushes. A tweezerman and a crabtree and evelyn pure badger. Not the highest rated brushes in the world but they definately do the job quite nicely. They blow away my old boar bristle brush that was my first. Ive been using both of them back and forth for a while now and use different oils on my face and glycerin in my lather. Im sure my brushes could use a good cleaning to strip all that out but how? Is there a certain cleaner to use? Thanks now for any answers.

Thanked: 7I know there are more elaborate procedures, but I have never found it necessary to use anything other than shampoo and cream rinse. I put some shampoo and warm water in the scuttle, work up a good batch of suds, rinse with plenty of warm water, then repeat the process with cream rinse.

I follow How to Clean a Shaving Brush using Vinegar and Borax, Bristle Cleaning guide I found over at emsplace.com. It works well and I've had no problems with the brushes after cleaning them.

Thanked: 13245Myself I am on the Shampoo and Cream rinse thing but of course you have to use dog shampoo
The only time I did the Borax cleaning was on a vintage Old Spice brush I found at the antique store followed my the shampoo and rinse, worked great....

I saw a video somewhere once where a lady was using Borax powder soap to clean them.
We have assumed control !
