Wow that is nice. If I dished out 83 buck on a "mug" according to my wife, I think she would break it over my head.

    Default Soap Dish

In regards to the separate soap dish, if you grate the soap into the dish can it then be microwaved to melt or do you recommend melting the soap separately and pouring it into the dish to harden?

I also have a Schwarzweisskeramik scuttle and I love it ... In response to your question, if the soap is grated, just press it into the dish and add a little water. There's no need to melt it. Besides, not all soaps can be melted in the microwave. Tallow-based soaps, for example, will burn.

But, if your soap already has a container or you have a mug, you don't need to use the soap dish if you don't want to. Originally, the scuttle was sold without a soap dish and it was a separate product, then Ansgar decided to include one with the scuttle. It's mainly intended for bulk soaps like Cella that don't have a container of their own.

    Default Thank you

Chimensch, thank you for the reply. I'll use the dish for those separate soap pucks that come wrapped in cello wrap only.
