At the moment I am using either a coffee mug (which has Surrey soap in it) and a larger diameter mug I got from my wife's grandfather's house, which will hold a better soap once I finish off what has been in there for 15 or more years (he died in 1990 I think, before I met her). The soap still works OK, but it dries out fast. I have but one cake of Williams in the waiting, then I will need more soap.

I use a plain ol Corning white coffe mug that I took from the kitchen. I bought an old spice mug on greEd bay with old spice soap in it, thinking it would be cool to use, but its too shallow for me, and heavy. The Corning mug is perfect for me. Its small, easy to clean, and fits a colgate shave soap perfectly.

I typically use a coffee mug. But thanks to eBay "lots", I've acquired all nature of crapolla, including a couple of Old Spice shave lather mugs. One is a vintage original, the other a rather recent revival copy. So those have been pressed into service for the time being.

I mostly use an large apocathary mug that I picked up at emsplace.com I love it. Only thing is that it's too big to fit in the medicine cabinet with the two other mugs I use. Both of them are coffee mugs. One is a coffee cup from the set of china we got as a wedding gift. (My wife isn't too happy with it, but I told her she can have the mug back if we take the set out of storage and start using it again) and the other mug is a Bugs Bunny & characters mug that I use to heat water up in the microwave with. My tap water isn't hot enough as I have the heater turned down becuase of my small children.

There is something deeply cool about a guy who uses their kid's cartoon character mug to shave with. Kind of the same thing as the guy who shows up to work wearing a Daffy Duck bandage, since that was what was available. Screams "I used to worry about looking macho. I had kids, and now don't worry about that so much any more." Reminds me of one of those nature photos where the "distinguished" wolf has a pup busily chomping on his ear.

Kids will do that to you, won't they?

Who said it was my kid's? That's *MY* mug! I love Bugs and the gang. Went to see Bugs on Broadway years ago in college when they came to the Boston area. Bugs on Broadway is a show where an orchestra plays the soundtrack to various Bugs Bunny cartoons while they show the 'toon on a big screen. Brings new appreciation to "What's Opera, Doc" and the "Rabbit of Seville".

When my kids were little, if you asked them who the purple dinosaur was, with out showing them a picture they would tell you Dino, when all the other kids their age would have replied Barny. I'm tring to do my part to bring them up right. :-)

I have a bunch of mugs. Old Spice, Ray's mugs with Masonic emblem, Oversized, Harley Mugs......depends on the size of the soap and that there is a good handle or knob to grip. I also like the soap to be deep in the mug to stir up alot of lather. Lynn

You do realize, of course, that you now need to get a custom set of Warner Brothers scales to go with that mug ... maybe a "Marvin the Martian" brush (strategic bristle placement) ...

I'd go on with the "quality of most modern cartoons" topic, but it would quickly need to go into the "Off Topic" forum.
