    Default Handmade Australian Shaving Brush

Okay, I am new to the straight razor. Been doing it for whole 2 weeks now. In that time I have been using a old "Body Shop" brush I have had kicking around for a few years to lather up.

Anyway, after doing some research here I decided to pull the pin on this Silvertip Badger hair Shaving brush AUSSIE BURL WOOD 77 - eBay (item 280403308883 end time Oct-24-09 23:16:32 PDT)

It arrived last night.....I tried it this morning....OMG!!!!! It made lather that looked like perfectly whipped egg whites......it was awesome. Seriously, I couldn't believe I would get excited about lathering for a shave!!!!

Just waiting for some blades to be honed up and SOTD here I come!!!

I have the exact same model from bryce and its a fantastic brush. Just dont make the same mistake I did, and soak it in boiling water - has been shedding hairs ever since.

Great buy Sly. I love Burl wood. Best price as well as the most beautiful of the brushes he has. Nice one.

    Default Exact same brush

    Sly,
Great buy, I just received exactly the same brush, well the wood anyway. I'd be intersted in knowing about your lather technique though. I already have a "pure" badger brush but bought one from Bryce to see the difference, with a silver top. I gotta say I'm a little disapointed in the lather from my new brush. The pure badger gave me a great lather straight on my face but the silver top seems very dry and needs dipping in water to get a lather that is not even half as good as the so called lesser brush. I haven't changed anything regarding lather technique so I'm wondering if the silver top requires a diffent technique to the pure. I must say though that the silver top feels like wiping silk across my face.
