Thanked: 20It actually works exceptionally well. I've done this using a turned and hollowed cocobolo blank rather than the acrylic and used curly walnut for the caps.

Gentlemen,
Bestgroomingtools.com has plastic travel tubes designed specifically for brushes. I have owned one for years and its works perfectly well.

Off topic a bit - Anyone else find themselves at Home Depot or some other general store trying to repurpose common items into shaving supplies? Dip cups become scuttles, ash trays become soap holders... I even thought about cleaning out a liquid glue container with a sponge top to fill with astringent.
