Thanked: 11yes this make sense but i wanna do something about it coz i soak it in hot water i do everything i should and if i push slightly on my face with it i feel it would need something done to it.
whould i rub it on some sand paper or do something with it soak it in boiling water or something.
have you tried something that worked for you?
it's not a big waste coz it didn't cost as much
will the only solution be a new silvertip?
thanks a lot,
any advice greatly apreciated

Try washing with hair shampoo and conditioner, That may help soften it up some. It sounds like it just needs some breaking in.

Thanked: 199Don't know what you could do other than use it. I use a boar brush, and I like the little bit of roughness...so I don't really care if it gets softer

to help break it in make a good lather in your hand and realy scrub it hard agianst your hand . do this 4 or 5 times, then shampoo and cond.it

- Build the lather in a cup, mug or on you hand then paint the lather on your face perhaps with the hand you built the lather on.
- Try and use only the first 0.5-1cm (1/4- 1/2 inch) of the brush.
The best choice for the impatient might be to worry your way through the least expensive puck of shave soap you can find (less than two euro). Just spend 5 min a day using the brush in a cup with inexpensive soap and it will break in, perhaps in a week.
Do not over do it but you can also grab a bar of laundry soap and worry your way through some of the bar. Laundry soap being a slightly harsh non lathering hard bar soap. In the US look for Fels-Naptha Heavy Duty Laundry Bar Soap or equivalent. That should break in an inexpensive boar brush quickly. Do completely rinse this soap off the brush very well before letting it dry for tomorrow.
Just remember that it is boar and will never be badger.
