I haven't really read up on recommended practices for storing my brush - I just figured I could set it down and pick it up the next day as-is. So take it for what it's worth, just another guy's way of doing it. The brush I use has been working like normal (no shedding, just seems like the same brush day to day) since I started using it several months ago

    Default Brush Holders . . .

    Hello, Ryan,

My brush holders are all the functional acrylic types. Most shave sites have them. The latest ones I bought, reasonably priced Vulfix brands, at the Shoebox Shave Shop.

    Regards,

    Obie

    I just bent up a clothes hanger...30 seconds/free. I know, it's not very classy!

    Wow...not classy, indeed!

I bought a relatively nice brush, so I think I'll spend a few bucks and at least get one of those acrylic stands for its living quarters.

I use the brush handle, works magnificently...

Actually though, IMO brush & razor stands are WAY overpriced. Standing the brush on its handle rightside up has always worked for me. You do need to let it dry for a few days tho.

The only trouble with this, if the brush is leaning on its side, it will put a bend in the hairs, if left for a prolong period of time. If you use it every day that may not occur. I have a few vintage brushes where this has occured.

I'm looking for something functional, nice looking, but not extravagant (overly pricey). I'd like to stay under $50 for sure.

    Ryan,

Try the following link. There are at least two relatively inexpensive shave brush stands in the top row that I have used over many years of shaving.

I ordered an acrylic one but didnt pay attention to the sizes, it didnt even come close to fitting my wee scott brush(i'm cheap). I found some ty wire spent some time bending and have a functional holder but not a very fancy one and it leaves rust marks on my counter. I am going to just redo it but use a piece of nickel tig rod or maybe stainless, and I will probably make a couple razor stands while I am at it. Cheap, functional, and if I take my time am sure they will look good, at least good enough for me.
