face latherers - how do you keep your brush warm?
I would like to be a bowl latherer but I have been a face latherer with no issues other than wishing for warmer lather. The first lather is generally warm - subsequent lather is cold.
Any ideas on how to keep a brush warm? I use soaps sometimes and bigelow cream most of the time (much easier).
TIA
Andy

get a scuttle, a moss scuttle is good at retaining heat and will hold your brush perfectly keep it there in between passes.

Thanked: 19You might also try the Brush Scuttle from Dirty Bird Pottery in the US.

I dip the brush in a little hot water before each re-lather. It might make the second pass a little on the runny side, but not much. I'm only a 2-pass guy, so beyond that you're on your own.

Thanked: 19Read this review.
I think their pictures of the soap/lather dish or Bill Bowl with the two-piece Brush Scuttle may be confusing. It doesn't come with either of those, but most pictures have them next to it.

I dip the tips in hot water and revisit the puck if necessary. I usually wipe just a little smear of lather on the inside lip of the sink for when a trip back to the puck isn't necessary yet.
