Thanked: 335Obie,
I'm a bit of a brush junkie and as one who occasionally "must have" a this or that, just ordered a Thater based on its recently divulged reputed excellent qualities. This will be interesting as my last brush was also a "must have" of considerable reput, Plisson by name, and one which sheds so well that I'm worried it soon will develop a tonsure.
Great expectations await the arrival of the silks and barrels Thater, lather slinger.

Thater brushes comments
My dear Bruce:
I had seen these brushes sometime ago at Different Scent, a site to which Robin had introduced me, and come away with a good gut feeling about them. Robin had spoken well of them — and I have high regard for his opinion. Finally, when SRD began carrying them, I realized no change in my gut feeling, and went ahead and ordered the 22 mm.
Oh, my, talk about my gut feeling deserving a medal. Once in a while my gut feeling gets drink and bombs. Not this time, though, Bruce. If I were to name a favorite brush, my Thater takes a bow even with only one shave. I am truly delighted with the brush. I am curious to know how you will like it. Please post your thoughts when your brush comes in.
Regards,
Obie

Thanked: 60First of all +1 to all of the comments about Obie's way with words. Truly a master of the written (and I am sure spoken) word.
Secondly +1 to Obie's comment regarding the Thater.
The thater 440 23 mm is my third brush. I don't like it..................... I LOVE IT, well, as much as you can love a brush. I expected it to be good but it turned out to be great. Both of my other brushes are pure badger and what a difference with the silvertip. It's stif,f yet soft. I can't put it any better than Obie. So I'll just leave it at that.

My dear Rmaldon240:
How kind you are for the nice words. Thank you, sir.
I rarely use the same brush, or razor, on two consecutive days. I'll make an exception with my new Thater and use it again tomorrow.
Today I used it with Harris cream (not one of my favorites). Tomorrow I will use it Provence Sante Verlaine and see if I get the same results from the brush.

Obie

Obie you have no idea how your post is killing me here. I bought a Thater chubby 3 and mine is sitting in some shipping crate in Germany waiting for that Volcano.
No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

My dear Thebigspendur:
That's right, the volcano. I forgot all about that. Ooh, that's a tough one, and here I am ranting and raving about these brushes without realizing some gentlemen have ordered them from overseas.
Maybe if we all smile at the volcano gods . . .
I look forward to reading your thoughts on the Thater "chubby." I bought my Thaters from SRD; however, they don't seem to carry the "chubby."

Obie

Obie, the Different Scent site actually lists 3 types of chubbies - one clear handled, one blond and the third with black handles. The 3rd is the 4125. You may be happy to know you actually have the Chubby I.
