Thanked: 74I have had issues with my Rooney 3/1. I am probably going to get a refund on it and replace it with a 4125/1 in 22mm or 24mm. For those of you that one one of these brushes is this model recommended? Which size would you get? Will this brush work equally well with shaving creams, soaps, face lathering, and bowl lathering. Thanks for the help.

Thater brushes
Hello, Altshaver:
On its maiden shave, I used my Thater with D.R. Harris shave cream. Tomorrow I will use it with soap and express my thoughts.
My experience using brushes has shown me that a good brush can switch equally well between soap and cream.
Mine is the 4125/0 22 mm., a relatively small brush, but she is a beauty. I have a 24 mm. on the way.
Regards,
Obie

Thater Brushes Comments
Gentlemen:
On the second shave with my new Thater 22 mm. (Chubby I, I'm to understand), I used soap. Yesterday, the first day, the honor went to cream.
The brush soared with both products. As you well know, soaps and creams lather with some variation. Here, the brush handled both quite well.
Yesterday the cream was Harris' lavender. Today the soap was Truefitt & Hill's. The razor was the Dovo "Bergischer Lowe," the pre-shave John Allan's Slick Water, the balm Trumper's Coral Food, and the aftershave the traditional Pinaud Clubman.
Another good day, made possible especially by my new Thater brush. Gentlemen, I cannot say enough good things about the quality workmanship and the feel of this brush.
Regards,
Obie

That's the one I got and used for the first time today. Mine is only 21mm. It is firm enough to craft lather, but I must say that it is one of the softest badger hair shaving brushes that has ever touched my face.
It will be in my regular shaving brush rotation from now on."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

Thanked: 74I ended up ordering a Thater 4125/0 last night. It is the 22mm knot "chubby" version I believe. I also bought an blue SRD brush scuttle. I am definitely looking forward to using these.
