Since I have only two brushes, this one is easy. Especially because the density of my UK A grade Silvertip is 2 - 2.5 times the Superbadger.

Now here is another idea for a challenge: Blind fold yourself and have someone shave you with your razor and see if you can tell which razor it is.

I've got some scritchy brushes that I believe I could pick out and couple large and soft. Maybe those too. It would be the ones that are in the middle that would confound me.

    Arrow Results

After convincing my wife about the virtues of this experiment and got her to agree, here are the results:

I asked my wife not to rub the whole surface area (SA) of the brush to my face as I can tell by size alone...only the tips or no more than 50% of SA.

    Dry conditions:
I was able to tell the difference between the Shavemac and Vulfix or Vestvia

Could not tell the difference between Vulfix or Vestvia

    Wet (water) conditions:
    Same result as above

    Lathered conditions:
I was successful at telling all 3 of them apart. Shavemac was very easy...it has a certain quality when face to face with skin

Vulfix and Vestavia were relatively easy to tell apart too...the feel of the bristled with lather was slightly different for me. I was surprised because I was sure that if I couldn't tell them apart in dry, there would be no way in hell that I could do it when lathered

There you have it...Now, I have a 24mm Thater brush that I should probably add to this experiment . But that ladies and gentlemen, is a story for another day and time.

    I have 3 brushes:

    1. Vulfix 22 mm Super Badger
    2. Vestavia 25mm Silvertip
    3. Shavemac D01 25mm Silvertip

However, I cannot objectively assess the difference between the three, even when blindfolded, because I know each one of the brushes' characteristics by heart (handle, weight, etc...).

To objectively determine this, what I will need to do is get my wife to rub each of the brushes against my face under; 1) wet, 2) dry, and 3) lathered up, conditions...they do feel different in each state. I will see how my wife reacts to this experiment ...I am sure that, like Glen, I will get a hysterical laugh out of this for a few hours before she agrees to have fun.

This way, I can see if I can tell them apart (of course, blindfolded ). Will keep you posted when she gets back from her business trip early next week.

    Cheers,
    -Robert

Now, that's not an experiment, it's more a question of TRUST...who can you trust with an extremely sharp object around your neck??

Actually when I tried it I could tell most of them. My Thater is a Silvertip so it's much softer and that was a giveaway. My Kent is very small so that was a giveaway. My Simpson Chubby 3 super is so dense that was a giveaway. Trying to tell the Plisson HMW from the Rooney Finest I couldn't do though. They were too similar.
