Wow. I have some old razors but none of them are heirlooms. That part of the true tradition is missing from my shaving. You have something very special. A suggustion: Buy yourself a brand new strop. With your grandfather's blades, your father's mug and brushes and your own strop, you'll have a priceless legacy from three generations to hand down.

no is a exposed hammer 16ga shot gun. i have the gun double barrel. no makings on it. when my father died i was going through the basement and found a wooden box of shell. they were paper shells with a pin sticking out of the end. when you pulled the trigger the hammer hits the pin and the shell goes off. the only reason i know its a 16ga is that i also found a wooden reloader that has 16 on it. dave

    Default Very lucky indeed!

I recently had my grandfathers razor refurbished. It is not the best shaver as he was never a wealthy man, but it is more valuable to me than any other razor on earth. I showed my grandmother the newly revamped razor. She laughed and said how much he used to nick himself with it.......at least I dont feel so bad about the overuse of my styptic pencil now. I'm still tryin to find my father's mug and brush. You and I are very lucky to have this element in our shaving ritual that gives it so much more depth and meaning. Congrats.
