my fathers cup and brush
well after getting my great grandfathers razors out of storage and joining this web site i remembered when i was a boy my dad had a cup and brushes. my dad has been dead for 11 years and he would be 86 today. talked to my mom about how i got the razors out and having 3 honed. first thing she said is i will cut myself. lol i asked her about dads cup and brushes and she still had the. well now i have my dad`s cup and my great grand dads razors. i can`t wait to get my razors back. heres a pic of the cup and brushes. the brushes say ever ready on them and i know you folks have seen these cups. dave

I would trade every razor I have for something that was used by my grandfather. My Dad -- still alive, thanks! -- feels the same too! Great find and great story.

Thanked: 8It must feel good to be able to use items that were in daily use by your great grandfather and father, I'm sure many of us here would give our eye teeth to be able to do the same.

Thanked: 1195Very cool, buckeye. I have an old Genco that was my great grandfather's, I'll have to have it honed one of these days. You gotta love heirlooms.
Take care,
Ryan

Yes, being able to shave with any piece of shaving paraphernalia that belonged to an older relative or ancestor is probably the most wonderful thing in the world.

How nice for you! Enjoy, a reflection of what we all know and love, these razors and brushes and mugs can move through generations with some love and care, no doubt your Grandfather and Father are extremely proud.

The cup, brush and mirror in my avatar was my grand dad's. I have used the brush occasionally but I like my silvertip for every day lathering.
