My latest acquisition
Here's a brush made for me by our own deighaingeal aka Gerrit. I asked him if he could mimic the finish on my 61 Gibson SG RI. The finish on those guitars is a closely guarded secret by Gibson, and the Heritage Cherry as you see below in my sig line is my favorite. From what Gerrit told me, he had quite the learning experience doing it. Seems like he enjoyed himself, and it most definitley shows in his work. I was blown away when I saw it. Pics do not do it justice, at all. I see most of his work, and this is his best to date. I also wanted the brush to be rather long, as you can see, the handle is 3 inches, and about 5 1/4 to the tip of bristles. I believe the knot is 22mm, of course, silver tip badger...It's just a pleasue to use with my big DB double scuttle. That's why I wanted the extra length...What Man doesn't....? Enjoy....
P.S. I realize the top pic is bit dark, but I wanted to show you the size in comparison to some of my other brushes, You have a Thather, a Simpson PJ2, Gerrit's Custom, and my Rooney 3/2, Oh, and what's that, in the bottom pic, to the right of the new brush...Yup, a big honkin bowl of MDC.....
P.S.S. Anyone have a really big brush hanger?Last edited by zib; 06-26-2011 at 07:39 PM.

24 mm. You are still a better photographer than I am. How about a pic with the scuttle?

I love the slim and taller brushes, so this one pushed all the right buttons with me
Congrats to the both of you!Last edited by Birnando; 06-26-2011 at 08:29 PM. Reason: Spelling

Often times there is a balance issue with the handle and knot or parts of the handle but that custom looks perfect to me.

Time for Gerrit to put up a web page! We have to help him pay for his masters, right?
