Default New 2 bander in town?

As I understand it Thater is in the process of producing a two band brush. From what I've read production should start soon. It's basically a selected hair three band with the top (or maybe bottom-I don't know) trimmed off. Preliminary reports are it has lots of backbone.

I really can't wait and hope to see them in the wood/nickel handles so I can get one to match my Shavemac D01. I'm pretty much over SBAD, but I've longed for a Thater for awhile. When I saw a post a month ago about a possible 2-bander I knew I'd give in. Hopefully one our vendors in the US picks them up, hint, hint SRD.....

Looks like they are more fan lofted than the bulb shape of the 3-band ones, which I slightly prefer. Here's to hoping we see them soon.

A prototype was made and I was fortunate to be offered a couple of weeks with the brush to give it a try. It does have great backbone and it is one of the most gorgeous looking brushes I've ever seen. Pained me to send it back to it's owner. The proto was 26mm knot and maybe a 52mm loft. It was/is a bulb shape and in spite of the backbone had soft tips. If and when they are in production and on our shores I will definitely be putting one in my rotation.

To each his own, my favorite German is Marlene Dietrich. BTW, the prototype I was fortunate to try has an off white handle. Say that to say that it is not the same brush as the one reviewed in the link.

Robin did a great job on his review of these brushes. Can't wait to get my new one and get them in.
