This has come up before. I don't know if it was here or another site but as I recall guys do this very thing and seem to think it gives a real improvement.

Makes sense because a shorter loft will give a stiffer brush than the same bristles with a longer loft. I agree with Stu though, remove the band to let the bristles air dry properly between uses.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 485Actually, I didn't even end up doing it, I took it off. I was thinking just as you guys said; that is, the bristles wouldn't dry properly...
