Omega Peachy
I received this brush a few days ago.
I had heard lots of good things about the Omegas and let me tell you, this brush is great. It's not too big, it's not too small. It's soft and not floppy. I have a couple Vulfix brushes and although soft I find them floppy. And at $40 for a Silver Tip brush, this is a steal. I have two other Omega's in transit as I type.

Very nice, Dave. What's the knot size?
P.S. Welcome aboard

Believe it or not the Omega Brushes don't seem to indicate their sizes. But I would put this at 25mm. And a really dense knot. One thing that's kinda nice and I think contributes to the firm feel is that hair feels "short". I don't know if that makes much sense, but my Vulfix brushes are 22 mm knots and feel loose and floppy, and I think that has to do with the length of hair.
Nice to be at the board.
I'm not new to wet shaving, I'm a member at SMF, but I'm very new to straight.

Glad to have you here and this was a great way to introduce yourself. As you'll see, this is a very friendly community. Your experience will be valued. By the way, where did you get the brush?

I ordered it through Amazon.com, who source it through Perfect Beauty. I had heard that their prices are much much better than Ems Place for the same brushes. More than 50% cheaper. And being in Canada and with the exchange rate being pretty good it was a steal. And luck of the draw it didn't get stopped for customs duty. Gotta love that.

I'm weary of any orders valued at over $30. The DOVO Bismarck I got from Tony M gave me a real enema lol.

I'm looking at the box they shipped it in. They declared the value at $20. I didn't even tell them that. I guess they just know. Inside the box it was in a nice Omega box and wrapped in tissue paper. I thought it was my birthday for a minute.

That's good to know. For now I'll just stick with my C&E BB brush and stick with the promise to myself that my next brush will be a nice custom piece from Matt.

That's a nice looking brush, and the price is certainly right. I have a huge omega bristle brush, which is okay, if not spectacular (I like other brushes a lot better, but keep it for soaps, to get a better lather.)
My only complaint about my Omega is that it was the foulest smelling brush I've ever had for about the first two weeks. It was the usual "wet dog" smell, but very potent. Yech!

This brush is like Hennigans Scotch. No smell. no tell.
