True but it also doesn't mean newer is better..

I never said that.. I just opposed the "older is better" attitude. Just like we have good and crappy craftsmen now, that held true a century ago. Therefore, a great modern craftsman using good materials will produce results that are at least as good as the ones produced by a great craftsman from 100 years ago.

hm, in line with this discussion, I remember a T shirt saying
THE OLDER I GET, THE BETTER I WAS

    certainly holds for my snowboarding...

    Yes, but....

All of the crap that was produced 100 years ago fell apart at least 75 years ago If it is still in one piece today it was probably pretty finely crafted. On the other hand, newly manufactured junk has not yet had the opportunity to fail .

This line of reasoning is similar to the suggestion that man will have the right to call the dinasours an evolutionary failure only when our species survive even a tenth of the time that they (the dinasours) dominated the planet.

    Food for thought,
    Ed

That'll never happen, because man is the architect of his own demise, working feverishly to bring about his own destruction. And succeeding...
That being said, my favorite brush is a medium sized Omega I got from Old Dominion Soap Company. (Around $13 shipped)
