The double is the biggest she offers, and only by special order. The 1.5 if the biggest she keeps in "stock"

I use my 1.5 on a daily basis. I also use a 24mm silvertip knot. I find my DB 1.5 plenty big IMHO.

Hey Kiruiz, the opening on my 1.5 DB is 4 1/2 inches wide and 2 inches deep. I think it was $52. I could be a buck or two off, but Julie is great and her work is awesome! I dig mine!

The dimensions on these things are baffling. I don't have a bowl or scuttle yet but do they really need to be this big? I do like the look of them, but would the travel be big enough? Currently I am doing face lathering. Would a face lather model be more beneficial or is there a real benefit to using a bowl/scuttle?

The travel is really only good to keep your brush warm but not really good for making lather.

I have a small brush that I use as a travel brush, and I do use my travel scuttle to make lather. It's not the best for making lather, and as str8shooter said, it will work well to keep your brush warm for any decent size brush. But, all the Dirty Bird products are great, and really work as intended. Julie does awesome work. When I ordered my 1.5 I was worried about the size too, but I think it's perfect since receiving it. Ig you've watched the DB video, you must remember that what she is making will shrink about 20% in the kiln. Order up, you'll dig it. If not, Julie's stuff is an easy sell in the classifieds!

I ordered a brush scuttle. I dug around for some reviews and pictures of it in use and it seems like exactly what I want.
