Thanked: 1Muhle VS Omega silvertips
Which silvertip do you prefer and why? Especially I would like to know which of them has softer tips.

I have no experience with either however Muhle makes really high end products and Omega is really not in the same class so it's not a fair comparison. But keep in mind if it's standard silvertip they are all pretty much similar excluding of course the two band and manchuko and higher sub categories of silvertip made by several manufacturers.

Thanked: 498My main brush is the 21 m.m. Muhle I love this brush and use it 85% of the time. Its on the soft side so I prefer to use it mostly with creams but works ok with soaps as well. I also have an Omega mini brush I think it measures around 19 m.m. that brush is extreamly soft a real floor mop if you will, and is a sole cream brush. I'm sure other models will have different charactieristics and other members could discribe theres to you.

Thanked: 194I have had no experience with the Muhle's but I do have an Omega and love it. It is my main brush for creams. My rule of thumb is to keep the soft brushes for the creams and the low end badger/boar for the soaps.

OK I did not miss the or in you ask but one of my favorite
brushes is the "DOVO "Micarta" Silvertip Shave Brush". So now
you have to look at three. I do want a stand for it that is in
keeping with it's quality.
I have four very well regarded silvertip or equivalent brushes
and I cannot tell them apart based on the 'tip' softness.
I think badger knots are like good beef -- all the best knots (like steaks)
get picked up by the trade and make it into the high end brushes.
For me the balance and handle are most important when I reach for
a brush in the morning.

Thanked: 15In my personal opinion the Thater brushes are the most soft tips ever. Try one of those and you will see. I have Simpsons, Plissons, Thater, Rooney and Morris and Thater is the most soft one in terms of tips.
thanks
