Well, thankfully we had a break from the heat this AM. It provided a bit of a chill to the bathroom in the morning. The scuttle was very nice, even the first pass was warmer than the mug method I was using. I noticed no negative effects from heat with lather drying out any faster. I am liking the scuttle so far.

Don't know how it happened but somehow I ordered the dirty bird travel scuttle. To match the home 1.5. Lol

A scuttle like that is exactly what I've been looking for. There's nothing nicer than the feeling of warm lather on your face.......

    UPDATE:
I've been using this scuttle exclusively since I posted this thread, and I still love it! I don't think I could go back to cold lather, my old mug is officially retired.

I so know what you mean when you say you'll never go back!!

I went from face lathering to using this bowl (it's tiny). That said, when I wanted to heat my lather, i just dropped it on top of my coffee cup lol. Seriously.

My buddy sold me his SRD Scuttle a while back and the lathers I am building in it are outstanding - hot or cold. It was one of the best things I have gotten myself and I use it every day too!

Really a scuttle is a mug is a cup is a bowl etc etc. but I think you are talkIng about the dual system that some places sell where hot water is poured into an outer container keeping the inside portion Warm/hot. Love them. Cant wait till my travel one comes in. At home the Dirty bird 1.5 is just perfect.

    Gentlemen,
I use two scuttles. During the week, when face lathering mostly with soaps, I use the Moss scuttle to keep my brush warm. The Moss was designed for this purpose, not for making lather. On the weekends, when I bowl lather with mostly creams, the scuttle is Schwarzweisskeramik. The Ayars/Bonnyman lather bowl, which I had Sara Bonnyman modify for me, now holds hot water to help regulate the water/soap/cream ratio when creating lather. The water in the scuttle tank is tap hot and not boiling, as I have discovered extremely hot water breaks up the lather. This set up works well for me.

On non-travel days, I use my Dirty Bird Double. It is HUGE, but I love it sooo much. I'm going to have to look into their travel scuttle...where's my wallet..hmmm.

My scuttle has transcended luxury; it's now a necessity I'm not quite certain I can do without.

@Earcutter -- I'm happy you're pleased with your scuttle. Thanks for allowing me to second-guess myself and go with something substantially larger like the G20. Everyone's happy!
