Boar has many fans. I'm not one of them but folks do like them. I would second the SRP Thater. I have 2 and they are great brushes. Also Simpson has a line of Manchurian Badgers which can be had in smaller sizes within your price range. Size is something you need to figure out for yourself because its a very personal issue. I'm not a believer in specific types or sizes for a specific soap or cream type. In my book a quality brush is just that period.

Thanked: 3225I was in the same boat as you several months ago, wanting a better brush than my wally world special. Started reading reviews and just got buried in possibilities. In the end I just got a Vulfix 660S medium silver tip brush not wanting to spend a huge amount of money on a first good brush. About the only minor thing is that you can see the mold seams on the handle. Other than that it lathers well on the face or from my mug and does not shed like a horse in the spring. I like enough that I am in no rush to spend even more coin on another brush. My extra coin is going into razors.
