Thanked: 16Personally, I prefer a boar brush to a pure badger. I find pure badger too scratchy. In boar brushes, the Omega 10066, 10049 and 10083 and 10048 are all excellent. Omega also makes the 11047, which is a mix of pure badger and boar, although it's a tiny brush. All of these Omega brushes sell for $14.00 or less, make great lather, and feel better on my face than pure badger. I have an Omega 10066 (costs $9) in my rotation and I enjoy it along with my Vulfix and Simpson silvertip badger brushes.

Shaving brush questions
I had a Tweezerman and liked it. Then upgraded to a low grade Thater for $39.99 and loved it and now have a Simpson chubby 2 best and will never look back.
The brush makes a difference.

Re: Shaving brush questions
I agree I have super hard burly whiskers in my beard so I have to have a thick had bristled brush to get my wiskers good and covered. Thats the reason o like the boar hair brush. Plus I have a harder type of soap
Thank you,
Swerve

Shaving brush questions
If you like the vdh boar do your self a favor and get a omega pro boar it really is that much better then the vdh for not much more money.
Also the omega 599 silver tip brush is a badger that has good backbone with very soft tips. Also not very expensive.
