Boar brushes? (Pros and Cons)
The only brush I've ever owned is an SRD silver tip(Stephens woodworking) and its a fantastic brush, but I am keen to try out a boar brush eventually. Even a horse brush!

Totally agree. I own a Semogue 2000 and it is simply my best brush, especially when you compare the costs of a boar and silvertip badger. You can lather hard soaps way better with a boar brush. And when you have coarse and wiry hair (that grows pretty much parallel to the skin) like me, boar bristles help to lift whiskers a little.

Boars are the best for me.
I have a dozen of boar brushes, including a custom made, some horsehair brushes, and I used to have 3 badgers, two of them have been given away, and one I still keep just to remember that I don’t like them.
Boar brush is like a Persia carpet, with time and use it gets better, softer but keeping the backbone strength, very soft at the edge and very gentle to the skin, but merciless to the soaps. Creams are also a piece of cake for them.
The only con is the smell when you buy it. I treat all my new boar brushes with continues lather making and holding for hours the first 3-4 days before I use them.
I love the Omegas and especially the Omega 48 Pro.
I am sure you will enjoy them.

I bought an Omega boar brush about 8 months ago and ever since have found myself using it more than the others including my silvertip badger. Not as soft as the badger but I like the floppy old school feel of it and whips up a lather in a jiffy
