Thanked: 9Brush choice: B&B vs SMF
I post here because I am not sure it's OK to post this on the ohter sites (SMF in particular seems a bit intolerant?)
What would you choose between the two brushes? One is EJ / MP with some ultra rare unseen before Finest silvertip (except in a single $400 brush) and the other is Rooney Super by, you guessed it, Rooney.
I have a Rooney Super (for sale, actually) and it's very nice but I can't help wanting to try the EJ Finest. The B&B EJ brush should have the springiness of a PJ with a much softer / more luxurious tips. The catch is the brushes are going to sell for the same price - I wonder how is this possible...
Anyway, the SMF Rooney is not really an option for me, I would either get the B&B or a Simpson Super, or Rooney Finest, etc. Just wanted to see what you guys think
Cheers

Ivo,
I really feel your pain. I mod at both forums, and unfortunately, due to some unexpected expenses, I'll have to make a decision between the brushes. And unless something changes, I'll be buying the B&B Brush. Not because I favor one forum over the other, but because, I have been after an ebony brush in that style of handle for sometime. I have the first two SMF brushes, so I won't feel quite so bad about missing SMF III.

Ivo, you may also want to check out Matt's stock. He has some amazing stuff. Just waiting to hear from him when my new custom ebony/sterling is coming out (feel free to chime in, Matt

Thanked: 9Ilija,
thanks for looking out for me
In case you missed it, my current Little Cutie is an ivory-handled brush from Matt. It is great (but a bit small)!
I want to try the highest grade of badger hair available (e.g. Rooney Finest, Simpson Super, etc.) And I think I'll have this re-handled by Matt with ivory, just a bigger handle. I have already asked him to check his stock
Cheers

If I remember that little 18mm was in the BB grade. Matt also carries Super-Silvertip.
I think the abrasive's in, so I'll be getting a certain package ready soon

Naaa, my cat would just tear them to shreds. He's human-friendly but he bullies other animals. That's why I'm keeping my brushes away from him

Thanked: 9OK, then immediately apologize to Little Cutie or you'll have nightmares of your cat destroying that new ebony + silver Super beauty you are expecting from Matt!
