Thanked: 3215I agree it looks like a dyed Boar Bristle. It used to be “Bristle” meant Boar Bristle and “Hair”, meant Badger Hair. Now days with the inclusion of synthetics and terms of “Like”, Badger Like and “Super” Super Badger, I can’t tell from the title anymore.
Also the flood of inexpensive Asian knot & brush manufactures with actual Badger brushes it is even more confusing. I recently purchased a huge Badger brush for $20 and it is a nice brush. Much of the badger hair has come from China and now complete brushes.
Badger will hold more water than Boar but both can be great lather makers. One of my favorite brushes is a 20 year old boar brush in a wooden handle, looks very similar to yours. Rinse well to keep clean, hang to dry thoroughly and it should give you years of service.
Enjoy nice score!

Thanked: 116The handle does look so similar! I'm hoping it's here when I get back from Christmas holidays!
