I too have a Nib 24 mm Super Silver Tip knot, and I dig it. It did take a few shaves to break in, but I would put mine up against any $200 job any day!

I have done another 3 shavings (that means 9 passes from my face) but the same disappointed results
No adequate lather just a waist of time and soap
This is the worst from all my today "active" shaving brushes
I will make a final try but if i will not get any good results i will destroy the knot
After almost 50 shaving brushes i have no more time for this one
Thanks for the advices.

Thanked: 194Boar brushes to me just keep getting better and better every time they are used. I would never use anything else except my Semouge boar for some cake soaps such as MWF, Tabac, Williams and so on. i would just keep using it...or maby just do a few test lathers with some very cheap soap cakes and the brush will break in without having to wait to shave... just a thought

Thanked: 116If you are really having that big of an issue with it, why not contact the golden nib and tell them your issues. Any reputable company would be happy to ensure their customers are happy. Perhaps they'd send another boar knot for you to test? I'm sure that everyone else that has one of these and hasn't had issues is happy. Just an idea.

Γεια σου ρε Δόρυ με τα ωραία σου!
Dory, I remember you were a fan of badger brushes and that you never really liked boar brushes.
How do you find yourself with other boar brushes?
For example, how do you find the omega brushes that you use?
Since I consider omega brushes the best shaving brushes out in the market I would like to hear your opinion about them. If you find omega boar brushes not so good, then maybe boar brushes in general are not for you.
On the contrary, I never found a badger brush that could shave my face decently and finally I gave up trying with them.
By the way, the NPV brush, the one with the turtle that you show on the picture, is good brush.

Thanked: 116Maybe Slur is right and boar just isn't for you. I LOVE my $12 Omega. It's BIG, it's SOFT and it has backbone! The lather it produces is just as good as my badger but I really like the extra stiffness.

Σαν τα χιονια φιλτατε,χαιρομαι που σε ξαναβρισκω !
I don't like the break-in period and the smell in the beginning
My face is in the "soft" side so the Boar isn't so friendly.
But as a "serious" shaver
i have to test them and have some in my collection.

They are tough with nice colour
I work them with some soaps, they are not something extraordinary but i get good results.

I didn't expect to have such problems with the TGN
I still working with some break-in tricks,patience.......
