The golden nib
What is your favorite knot from TGN and why?

Thanked: 2591My latest one- 26mm extra stuffed grade A.
Great thickness of the knot, very dense but not stiff, feels best of all others I have so far (24mm, 26mm stuffed but not grade A, 22 shorth knot)Stefan

Thanked: 2027Grade A s without question, any size, or the super fines are also fantastic knots.
If money is no object, tony has some REAL High mountain whites,These knots are magnificent in all respects.
I have one sitting on the bench as we speak,I have turned 3 custom handles for this puppy and still cannot decide which one to use,it has to be special.
Above all, TGNs customer service is the best of the best,I have bought hundreds of knots from them with never an issue.

I do not want to spend a lot, but the grade A are not out of the question. I have noticed Castle Forbes seems to work better with a badger. I have one badger but it is an heirloom so I do not want to use it too much. It loses a few hairs with each use.

I'd have to say the 24mm Finest Badger for it's tough feel and the 24mm Super Badger for it's soft cushion feeling with plenty of hair. I've played with the depth of the knot and the clearance at the opening to adjust the backbone on these and others, but those two are my favorites by far.

I have a few, my ûber brush is a extra stuffed silvertip. Why, this bastard is from the beginning a great water holding lather machine. 26mm
Second, is my last buy from the nib, a nice looking 22mm fine badger brush.
I had also one big silvertip brush that is not so good whit soap, but exellent whit creme. Supersoft but will not make a decent soap lather.

I have to say though, I ordered the 22mm boar hair knot from them just to see what it would feel like...price was good. I've been thoroughly impressed by it. I don't have another boar hair knot to compare it to, but I can't wait to use it...it beckons me every day now...needy little hog! I just bought a couple of the high mountain whites because of the post.
