Mine get cleaned everytime I use them....with whatever soap or cream I use I just rinse them and let them dry.

If you take the time to thoroughly rinse your brush after use you won't have to clean with any soap. It's only when you don't and the soap and residue starts to build up that you have issues. The only caveat to that is if you have water quality issues and then the minerals and soap can build up and it's almost impossible to rinse out and then at some point you need to give it a good shampooing.

A brush is after-all hair so pretty much anything you use on your hair you can use on the brush no matter if it's badger or boar or horse.

Thanks guys. I asked a good one this time!!! I don't have any build up on the brushes at all. I'm going to just keep doing what I have been.....rinse off very well and hang dry it. I alternate brushes with razors everyday so the drying part won't be an issue. Thanks agin for all the help!!!!

I've never cleaned mine, but brush maker Rodney Neep says you can shampoo them with baby shampoo and use hair conditioner on them.

I second the main theme of answers here or is it third, fourth, or fifth...?

Anyway the only cleaning I do to mine is when they are new/or new to me vintage, the only difference in procedure is the vintage get an alcohol spray post shampoo and pre conditioner.

I use gssixguns method as I have found it to work extremely well.
