Nice work, looks great. That is definitely a BFK, you might need an extra puck of soap.

It came out good, don't put yourself down. I can honestly say that I would own one.

There are true craftsmen that have amazing tools and equally impressive talent to make incredible handles.

Then there are bushcrafters that whittle some fire wood and come up with something unique and special.

While the craftsman may produce something that is very desirable to many, the bushcrafter may come up with something even more desirable to one. It is all about mindset.

In the end, I'll suggest that the item only really needs to be desirable to its owner...after all, how often is anyone else going to be in your shave den?

    Nice work!

BTW, there is nothing wrong with producing more and developing skills and knowledge, but I'd suggest hanging on to that one

    Using spalted birch for firewood..
Hehe, great find inside a log intended for burning. It looks brilliant, and I'm envious.

    Good job!

That is a fantastic looking brush!! The grain and pattern in the wood really pops and the unconventional shape works well. Nicely done sir!

I'm constantly turning fire wood. Its amazing what beautiful figuring you can find in those stupid logs. Fire wood also makes for great natural edge bowls.

I love what you did here, It's unique and one of a kind. Excellent work!

I guess the good thing with firewood is that you were going to burn it anyway, so if it all goes wrong you can still burn it and have lost nowt.

    ####FINAL REPORT####

So the first shave with the new brush
Yes this brush holds a TON of soap. Which is good because I like variety.
If you can imagine what it would feel like to get licked in the face by a huge lion or another animal with a giant warm tongue with enough scruff and backbone but soft at the same time ....it was like that. I found myself lathering maybe more than I should enjoying the fruit of my labor.....UNTIL I dropped my razor in the sink chipping the porcelain (blamed it on the 4 yr olds hot-wheels) and cut my finger of all things...finished the shave wondering why the shave felt so bad then noticed some chips in the blade as well... So I moved the razor into last position and grabbed a fresh one.. I will start a new handle this weekend
