Thread: Need advice on repairing a Semogue 1305

Hi All,

I'm looking for advice for repairing a Semogue 1305. Only had it for 2 weeks before the bristles fell out of the handle. I contacted the vendor who will not take it back because it is used so I'm gong to try to fix it myself. I'm seeing a yellowish white material in the handle and on the bottom of the bristles. I don't know if its glue or the material the handle is made from. It was spinning in the handle when I initially tried to remove it but it won't move now. Any idea what it might be and how I can fix this brush? Thanks.

Well, so much for epoxy. I guess this brush is going in the trash.

Well .........seeing as how Semogues are not terribly expensive, I would just buy a new one. I have two and have had not one problem. But however, that is not to say that a bad one in the batch can not make it's way to someone in the world. Seriously that is the beauty of Semogues.....they aren't expensive.

You could get one from straight razor designs...they sell good product.

Thanks Nightblade. Yeah they are inexpensive. I'm going to give it a try one more time. If that doesn't work I'll get another brush. It'll give me an excuse to check out straight razor designs.

I would be interested in knowing what vendor wouldn't take back a brush two weeks old that's crapping out.

If the knot fell out of the handle glue it back in with epoxy, or if other issues exist (was kinda confused if the knot fell out or if it's stuck but loose). You could cut the bristles off with a utility knife then drill the base of the knot out with a forstner bit - Order a new knot from TGN, epoxy it in. As it is a fairly inexpensive brush, it might be easier just to buy another one. I see it as a chance to put a badger knot in it like two band finest

Thanks. It was an amazon purchase. I'll have to go back and see who it really came from.
