I think you should embrace the blown up burl, celebrate the perfection of imperfection, and market a line of these as the Wabi Sabi brush.

    They'll be big in Japan.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

I say epoxy it, fill it in I know someone who would be proud to own a Pixelfixed work even if it was rejected by QC.

Still looks gorgeous to me, but hey I appreciate the inherent flaws in myself, my friends and the like as well.
What he said. Peterson, Comoy and many others didn't throw that old briar bowl away when shaping the bowl revealed a fault. They got out the old putty fill and some of them used epoxy with briar dust. Anyway, I know that pixelfixed has the ingenuity to turn that lemon into lemonade

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Agreed . You'd have to leave the knot as is to qualify for wabi-sabi.

    +1.

I think it has a certain something. Seal it up. The chunk went missing at exactly the right place for it too still ook stylish. If you hadn't said it was an accident, I would have thought it was meant to look like that.
