Still looks nice, chunk missing or not. I say finish it up seal and stabilize the missing chunk and stick a knot in it. I'm sure it will find a happy home.

Pixel, hollow that spot out a little, find a stone/gem worker, show him or her the spot and they will find a nice agate or appropriate stone and shape that can be glued/epoxied in. Start a new trend/style and charge more for the effort. Make it happen and reap the rewards.
