    I'm wondering whether tung oil (which I have) might work instead of the linseed oil (which I don't).

    Hardwoods like ironwood turn out awesome, oily woods like walnut or cocobolo are a pain, and everything else seems to go all right just with a CA finish.
    I made a brush and razor set over the summer out of Paduak and the finish turned out really well, the razor I got back due to the defective razor head was made from the same piece of wood, but this time it was made during the winter. I'm leaning more & more toward the cold affecting the CA finish
