    That may be true as some woods such as teak may seem easy to turn and machine but do to High silica content dull tools.
    A sharp tool will cut a near perfect finish and not Gouge the wood as above.

    I noticed today that it was getting to be time to sharpen my tools, it was a challenge to rough the purpleheart to shape. The gouges are shallow enough to be sanded out, but I definitely need to get the grinder back out.

    They look very nice,but heres a tip I learned the hard way a long time ago,Knots are hand made,they can Vary in size (sometimes alot)
    With my handles I fit ea,Knot to the handle,sometimes the size diff is substantial.
    Will not make a handle without having the knot in hand

    You have some vastly different sizes there too. They sure look nice. Hope the knots go in well.

    I wasn't sure about the variability in knot size so I did make the handles so the holes for the knots can be adjusted to fit. I should hopefully be ok.
